Frequently Asked Questions

Can I switch if

I get the Warm Home Discount?

Yes, you can switch if you get the Warm Home Discount. However, not all companies offer the Warm Home Discount so always double check before you switch if the new company offers the scheme.

You will automatically get the Warm Home Discount if:

  • Your electricity supplier was part of the scheme
  • Your name (or your partner’s) was on the bill
  • You were getting the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit (even if you get Savings Credit as well)
Some energy companies also offer the Warm Home Discount if you're on a low-income or get certain means-tested benefits. If this is how you qualify for the Warm Home Discount then make sure you double check with the new energy company that you will still qualify if you switch.

The following companies offer the Warm Home Discount:

  • Bristol Energy
  • British Gas
  • Co-operative Energy
  • EDF Energy
  • E.on
  • Ebico
  • Extra Enegy
  • First Utility
  • M&S Energy
  • nPower
  • Our Power
